These Text Messaging Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your participation in and use of the Delwood Community League Text Message Service (“Text Message Service”). By “opting in” or otherwise using this service, you agree to these Terms. These Terms form an agreement between you and the Delwood Community League (“Delwood,” “we,” “our,” or “us”), located at 7515 Delwood Road NW, Edmonton, Alberta, T5C 3A9.

1. Definitions

“Opting In” / “Opt-In” means requesting, joining, agreeing to, enrolling in, signing up for, acknowledging, responding to, or otherwise consenting to receive one or more text messages from the Delwood Community League.
“Text Message Service” means any system or arrangement in which we send one or more text or multimedia messages (including SMS, MMS, or successor protocols) to your mobile phone number.

2. Consent to Text Messaging

By consenting to receive text messages from us, you agree to these Terms and authorize the Delwood Community League to communicate with you via text message for purposes related to community programs, membership updates, events, or urgent notifications. You acknowledge that your consent is not required to purchase or maintain a community league membership, and you may withdraw your consent at any time as described in Section 8 below.

3. E-Sign Disclosure

By agreeing to receive text messages, you also consent to the use of an electronic record to document your agreement. You may withdraw this consent at any time by replying STOP to a text message or by contacting us directly (see Section 9).

4. Privacy and Use of Information

We respect your privacy. We use information you provide through this service only to deliver text messages and respond to you. This may include sharing limited information (such as your mobile number) with mobile platform providers, phone companies, or other vendors who assist in the delivery of text messages. Mobile opt-in data and consent information will not be shared with any third parties for marketing or promotional purposes. We may disclose information as required by law, regulation, or lawful governmental request, or to protect our rights or property. This Text Messaging Privacy Policy applies to your use of the Text Message Service and supplements our general Privacy Policy, which governs our broader data practices.

6. Frequency of Text Messages

This Text Message Service is intended for community-related, person-to-person communication between you and our volunteers or staff. You may receive an initial message confirming your opt-in or providing details about the service. The number of text messages you receive will vary depending on community activity and your engagement (for example, responding to a HELP request or registering for events via text).

7. Service Availability and Limitations

We make reasonable efforts to ensure reliable delivery of text messages. However, delivery may be delayed or disrupted by network congestion, technical limitations, or factors outside our control. The Delwood Community League is not responsible for delayed or undelivered messages.

8. Opting Out of Text Messages

You may opt out of receiving text messages at any time by replying to any message with one of the following keywords: STOP, QUIT, END, REVOKE, OPT OUT, CANCEL, or UNSUBSCRIBE. Because this is a person-to-person communication service, opt-out requests apply only to the specific phone number and conversation associated with the message.
